WDIMTM has no server.
What leaves your device
When you ask for an explanation, the extension sends the following to the AI endpoint configured in its settings — and nowhere else:
- The text you selected.
- A bounded amount of surrounding page text. The full page is never sent.
- The page title and URL.
- The instructions of the lens you are using.
- Your profile text and any saved memories judged relevant to the selection.
That endpoint is whichever provider you point the extension at.
Images you attach in page chat are sent to that same AI endpoint, only when you send that message. The extension never captures your screen itself.
If you turn on web search, the search query is additionally sent to your search provider.
What stays on your device
- Memories and your profile text are stored in extension local storage.
- Page chat threads are stored in session storage.
- Selections themselves are never retained.
- Images you attach are held in the tab; only a small thumbnail is stored.
Settings sync. API keys do not.
Your preferences are stored in Chrome's synced extension storage.
API keys are deliberately excluded from that.
Importing your chat history
Importing your chat history is always something you start.
- Read in the page only, never written to disk.
- Sent to the endpoint you configured, under your key.
- Nothing is saved until you review and tick it.
- Closing the page discards the raw conversations.
WDIMTM Cloud (opt-in)
WDIMTM Cloud is optional and off by default.
What we do not do
- We operate no server and receive no data from the extension.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no tracking.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
- Your data is never used for advertising or model training.
- The extension reads page content only when you select text and ask.
Your controls
- View, edit, or delete any memory in Settings → Memory.
- Set the memory provider to “none” to stop storing memories entirely.
- Turn WDIMTM off for the site you are on, or add hostnames to the site denylist.
- Turn the extension off globally, or uninstall it.
- Export your settings and memories at any time.
Children
WDIMTM is not directed at children under 13.
